This module is run as part of the Pilates Moves Studio Certification
program and all applicants must abide by the full terms and conditions even if
only participating in the Matwork Certification modules
Time:
Self
mastery, assisted teaching & observation hours need to be booked prior to
the course starting (9 hours per week).

This program is appropriate for Movement Specialists, Fitness Leaders and
Pilates Instructors wishing to further their education. The program is designed
to introduce the inexperienced participant to basic Pilates based Matwork
exercises and to teach specific sequencing and class format for low risk,
apparently healthy participants.

Be able to perform and understand
basic Matwork exercises and modifications.
·
Understand the Pilates Principals and
their application to each exercise.
·
Adequate knowledge of Pilates history
·
Demonstrate adequate understanding of
Occupational Health and Safety issues.
·
Identify personal and prospective clients
individual learning styles (Visual, auditory, kinaesthetic & auditory
digital).
·
Present a 50 minute Matwork class
demonstrating suitable communication and client education skills
·
Theory & Application of Matwork
class (total 17 hours).
·
Ongoing practical assessment during
lesson plans II-V.
·
Written & practical examination
(total 1 hour).
·
Ongoing practical examinations in
which the candidate will satisfactorily instruct chosen exercises
·
Assignment – Professional conduct
·
Written examination: Short answer
questions on Pilates’ exercises, their focus and modifications in lesson plan V
in which the candidate will show a satisfactory understanding of the Matwork
& its repertoire.
