Hollywood stars swear by it! Dancers don't start their days without it! What is this exercise program that you actually look forward to, which engages you, that leaves you refreshed and alert? It's Pilates (pronounced pil-LAH-teez).
Developed
in the 1920's by the legendary physical trainer, Joseph H. Pilates, the
Pilates method is a set of principles and movements designed to dramatically
improve strength, flexibility, posture and coordination. Pilates combines
awareness of the spine, proper breathing, strength and flexibility training to
achieve slimmer, longer, stronger muscles without building bulk.
Pilates
is a comprehensive exercise routine lasting approximately one hour. An
instructor will take you through a series of exercises and movements with an
emphasis on your core muscles - abdomen, back and buttocks. At times you will
have to work slowly so that you can feel what you're doing. Getting in touch and
feeling the muscle or joint you're exercising is very important. The movements
are unlike anything you've done before, and the results can be astonishing.
In
addition to private and semi-private sessions Pilates Moves also offers Pre
& Post Pregnancy Circuits, Studio Circuit Classes, Power Pilates, Group
Allegro Reformer Classes, Small Apparatus Classes, Pilates on the Ball Classes,
Matwork Classes & Pilates Evolution Classes.
These one-hour classes incorporate all the principles and movements of the
Pilates workout.
What
you can expect physically will be a total change in your body. Posture will
improve, Stomach and buttocks will become more toned, legs and arms will be
leaner and your energy level will dramatically improve as well.
Your plan should be to workout two to three times per week.
After ten sessions you will feel different.
After twenty sessions you will look different and after thirty you will have a new body.
If you put the time into your workouts we promise you results.
